Declaration of Energy Independence

I'm asking you to join me in opposing the senseless destruction of our environment by signing the Declaration of Energy Independence. The declaration calls on our government to pursue a sustainable energy future that will preserve -- not destroy -- our last, unspoiled wildlands.

U.S. Ranked Low in Environmental Sustainability

In a 142-nation study on environmental sustainability by the World Economic Forum, the United States ranked 51st and the United Arab Emirates ranked last.

Noting the United States' low ranking, Columbia researcher Marc Levy said, "The ESI shows that a nation's economic status does not necessarily predict its environmental success."
